FINAL THOUGHTS
In conclusion, this season was long as fuck — but somehow interested me enough to complete within a week. Hm. Yeah, I did really enjoy covering this season. Although the photoshoots weren’t on par with seasons one’s and two’s, they weren’t Godawful either. Especially with everything else we had to compare GrNTM to in 2018. This season was certainly one of the more successful Top Model seasons of 2018. Even though the shoots were amazing, I thought a lot of the girls were strong. Almost every girl had at least one star moment (e.g. Xanthi’s “Awareness” picture from week 5). A lot of the girls knew how to model, too — which is observable during such photoshoots as the black and white jumping shoot. Maintaining a strong expression while jumping, and being fairly bare in outfit, is hard to do successfully, but that was one of the strongest weeks of the competition. I just blame production or the creative director – or someone who is not the girls – for the poor execution every now and then. Also, blame the inadequate elimination order that eliminated some of the strongest models first (cough, cough Elena, Marianna M.). Despite all these conflicting thoughts I have on season three of Greece’s Next Top Model, there is one thing I have a firm opinion on: this season produced one of the strongest winners in Top Model history. Noune is absolutely stunning. GrNTM really managed to find a star with her. This season was hers since week five, no one touches her average. In the long haul, this season didn’t have as many star moments as the previous two seasons did; the concepts were seldom amazing and frequently overdone and cheapened, the elimination order was a bit whack, and the execution floundered due to both of these things. However, the season ended with a BANG — and I think the ended really kept the season from dulling. I’m really exciting for season four of GrNTM. And I’ll be here to cover it~
1. Noune (3.0) 10/8/3/6/1/6/1/1/2/1/1/3/4/2/5/3/1/1/1/2/1
Absolutely adore Noune. I think we all know this. She’s stunning. She outperformed all of her competitors a total of NINE times, earning herself a final average 1.6 points lower than second place. The only time Noune didn’t impress me that much were the first couple weeks and the androgyny photoshoot. Otherwise? She basically delivered perfection every single week. There’s too many weeks for me to name all of my favorite shots of Noune’s (I’ll do that in the top 15 photos of the season, anyway), but some immediate standouts that I remember are her glamorous eating, her crystal ball magic, and her final picture of the season. Other than producing an outstanding portfolio, surely portfolio of the season, Noune’s look is definitely my favorite. She is so photogenic. Her eyes are stunning, her eyebrows are sharp, the shape of her face is quite perfect. Her features, in general, are perfect. And the girl does have a strong body. Noune impressed me all throughout the season, and I have been a big fan since day one. Every week she somehow managed to get better and better — or at least, impress me differently. When I go through the threads on RTVGames, I immediately want to go to Noune’s picture. Noune really slayed her competitors — and her average proves it. 100 percent I would have also given Noune the crown.
2. Marianna P. (4.6) 2/2/10/7/7/8/7/10/5/6/3/2/3/5/3/2/4/4/2/3/2
I’m not sure if Marianna P. is my second favorite model of the season. I feel like Noune is by far the strongest model of the season, and then a lot of other models are competing for second place. I feel like Marianna might be one of them. I think she has a really strong look. One of my favorites of the season. But I feel like she looks better in motion than she does in pictures sometimes. She middled a lot in call-out for me, dipped to the near-bottom of the pack a couple times too. Though never really the absolute worst, which I guess is why Marianna manages to find herself second in my averages. Something I’m still a little shocked by though, as Marianna never impressed me the absolute most in any particular week. She found herself the second and third and fourth and fifth best most weeks. And for that, I think Marianna P. deserved fifth place. With only the strong competitors left in the competition at that time, Marianna’s floating would have made her the weakest link of the bunch.
3. Evelina (5.0) 6/4/12/4/12/1/4/3/9/10/5/4/5/7/2/5/3/2/3/1/3
Oh. Evelina looks four times better as a brunette we see. I like this promo shot albeit Evelina’s vagina almost about to pop out. Evelina had a couple star moments this season (see her first call-out pictures) and an overall very consistent portfolio. There aren’t many misses. The only one I can think of right now is her captive animal picture. While about 50-ish percent of Evelina’s portfolio is fairly strong, I do think another ~30 percent is boring. A lot of the time Evelina’s look lost interest to me. I just find her look to be very basic. She does have a strong body, she does know how to model, but a standout look doesn’t make you a standout competitor. Ultimately, Evelina being one of the more consistent performers keeps her going almost as far as she went on the show for me — to top four. I do prefer Evelina to Marianna P., but I think two other girls deserved to be in the final three with Noune.
4. Anna T. (5.6) 9/18/15/1/3/2/5/4/1/2/7/1/3/8
And here’s my runner-up. Despite having a rough first three weeks, Anna produced a portfolio almost as strong as Noune’s. During especially the middle portion of the season, Anna and Noune kept going back and forth between first call-out. In many instances, I found Anna T. Noune’s sole competitor. And I think that deserves her being the runner-up to Noune. I think, as a whole, Anna has a strong look to model. She look is a bit more unconventional, but I love the shape of her face and eyes. She has nice cheekbones. Perhaps not the most standout features, but Anna’s photogenia certainly makes up for it. She may overpose every now and then, but in most instances Anna’s face looked beautiful in her picture. As did her body. She managed to produce some of the most impactful, eye-catching pictures with her unique poses and expressions, I will give her that. She did have a few misses, but otherwise, the bitch performed very well. I’m sad she got the placement that she did, I think she should have gotten at least top five.
5. Anna A. (6.0) 1/16/2/12/11/14/2/9/3/11/6/1/6/1/7/1/2/3
Anna T. is my runner-up and Anna A. is my second runner-up. Lol. I don’t think Anna A. has that strong of a look. Multiple times I said she looks more like an actress than she does model. And I do think she dances better than she does model, too, sometimes. But the girl somehow managed to produce some of the strongest pictures of the season. She has numerous first call-outs. The second most after Noune. And I think that should be rewarded. Surely, Anna fucked up every now and then, but she had more hits than misses toward the end. I think she improved, even though she managed to stay inconsistent all throughout the season. Anna A. may not be the model noun(e), but she does know how to move her body, making her the model verb. She’s good. She’s strong. I like her. Expect to see Anna A. featured in my top 15 photos of the season.
6. Christianna (6.3) 3/10/14/3/2/7/9/8/7/4/4/5
Here is someone who I find absolutely beautiful. Christianna is one of the prettiest girls of the competition. She has a strong look. Perhaps a little commercial, but strong nonetheless. I think Christianna’s problem sometimes is that she relies on this beauty. She has the look — and yet found herself middling most weeks. She should be a top performer each week. A lot of her pictures were a bit on the bland side; however, she does have a couple gems. Never a first call-out but a fairly good average nonetheless, I enjoyed Christianna this season and think she should have went a couple to a few weeks further. Like around week 14 or 15.
7. Elena (7.2) 16/1/9/2/6/9
Elena has a strong portfolio, and I was really sad to see her go as early as she did. I really didn’t understand her elimination. She received a first call-out from me week two, a second call-out from me week four. Her first picture was probably her worst. Her elimination picture was not elimination worthy. Elena has a decent look — she’s very skinny and so her proportions are strong, but I think her head looks a bit larger than it should sometimes. Otherwise, Elena does have a youthful look, and I do think that, due to this youth, Elena would have been a strong competitor for the crown. Although I didn’t watch the season, I think she has a look strong enough to last fair amount of time in the industry. I’d take her to around top eight.
8. Mikaela (7.5) 19/7/8/5/5/3/3/11/8/3/8/8/9/8
Oh, the first person I don’t really care about. Mikaela is a good model, she has a lot of strong pictures. For instance, this one; this is a really strong promotional shot. Love her face here. Mikaela had a few really strong performances this season. Never is she at the absolute top, or even in the top two, but she only ever produced terrible shots a couple of times. I think a lot of other times she had mediocre pictures. Even though a lot of her pictures featured more interesting, unique poses (e.g. the lifted leg pose), I found them to be quite polarizing. Sometimes, her poses worked. Other times, they didn’t. Sometimes, Mikaela also managed to look old. She has an intense face with strong features. Sometimes, her face reads plastic because all of her features are just that sharp. She does have a strong face, maybe just not the most photogenic. I’d probably eliminate her a couple weeks earlier than she was on the show.
9. Evi (7.6) 5/12/18/17/14/4/11/6/4/5/2/6/8/4/4/4/5
I’m a bit perplexed by Evi. I think she’s gorgeous. She has good features. I just don’t think her features are captured amazing in picture. Or, at least, she looks better in motion. She does have a few strong pictures. I can think namely of her glamorous eating (though that might be an unpopular opinion). Her three-way makeout picture was pretty good too. Another problem I have with Evi, though, is the fact that her features keep her from ever really being at the bottom of the pack for me. When she performs poorly, it’s not atrocious. Evi never really found herself at the absolute bottom of the pack for me. But I also don’t think her pictures were as strong as some of her other competitors. She shouldn’t have made it as far as she did based off of performance, but they never really had the chance to eliminate her until around top five. I would have eliminated Evi a week earlier, however.
10. Ioanna (7.7) 7/9/6/9/15/5/8/5/6/7
After two very strong Ioannas, we get this one. I am so, so disappointed. Partially because this Ioanna ruined the Ioanna name in GrNTM, but also because she is stunning. I quite enjoy Ioanna’s look, but she definitely started off stronger than she ended. I think Ioanna’s casting photos are particularly her strongest pictures (see her bath tub photo). She kinda just drifted after that. Never getting ranked higher than fifth for me. I wish she would have performed better, but I do think she should have went a few weeks further. To like the doll photoshoot.
11. Marianna M. (8.0) 12/3/7/8/10
Aw, I miss this one. She is so cute. Marianna was a strong early performer. I remember her jumping black and white picture, it was strong. I thought she was going to go further than she did. It’s unfortunate she didn’t, because I do think her look is one of the stronger ones of the season. I like her olive complexion, her face is beautiful. Her body is good, too. She deserved better than what she got; I’d take her to the doll photoshoot with Ioanna. I would have enjoyed to see what she had in store.
12. Elda (8.8) 13/5/19/18/2/6/1/6
Oof, this one. Elda started off meh, produced a promising picture week one, sucked weeks three and four, then came back, slayed for a little, and then got cut. She had a very peculiar arc, and I don’t mind it. She got one first call-out from me, and she produced a few really strong images. I think Elda has a strong look, too. I’m a bit half and half on the makeover she received. Sometimes, I feel like the short hair enhances and sharpens her features, but other times it doesn’t match her face. Her face I find frequently needs the support of more hair. Regardless, I do think Elda has a strong look, and I’m a bit shocked the girls voted her back in. She came back and shook things up a little. I’m glad she did. I think she deserved top seven, provided she’d be one of the girls to come back for me too.
13. Eirini-Ria (10.1) 14/11/13/16/9/10/6/2/10
I don’t mind Eirini-Ria. I think she ended much stronger than she began. Her balancing on a floating runway picture was quite delightful. She has a strong look. Her face can look really good in pictures in sometimes, though perhaps a bit harsh and enlarged other times. Her features are just very strong; she has a large jaw, big cheekbones, large lips, and yet thinner eyebrows and rather small eyes. Her body is a bit smaller in proportions too. Eirini-Ria had a couple strong performances this season, but she frequently found herself dead-ass in the middle. And so she goes to week nine for me.
14. Eirini (10.9) 18/15/11/11/17/16/14/7/11/9/10/7/7/9/6/7
Absolute garbage. So many elimination votes. Literally, this girl never got higher than sixth. And she got sixth when there weren’t many girls left, too. Ugh, Eirini is so fucking stank. Like, I can’t stand looking at this girl. She’s going to be all over my bottom fifteen pictures of the season. Although Eirini does have a long, lanky body, sometimes there is such thing as being too tall. Plus, it didn’t help that Eirini never knew wtf she was doing with her body. A lot of her poses looked exceptionally awkward. And her faces never saved her poses; her mouth was always tense and small. She consistently looked facially stank, bar a couple of instances. I would have cut Eirini at week, like, six. Girl was dragged.
15. Jo (11.0) 11
Lol, this girl is actually one of the stronger ones of the season. She has a neat look. I like her hair! Jo is pretty adorable. I’m sad that she went home first, because I do think she did a pretty strong job during the casting episodes. She has an interesting and distinct look, as well as a good body. Her picture wasn’t elimination worthy either. At least Jo gave us something with her picture. She didn’t look ugly — and a lot of the pictures that week were fucking atrocious. Jo deserved better but I’d only take her a few weeks further, lol.
16. Rozana (11.1) 15/14/5/14/8/11/10/12
Oh okay, this is one of my favorite pictures of Rozana! This picture is good and Rozana had one or two other instances were she was alright, but she otherwise flopped. I like Rozana’s face. She has nice features. Beautiful hair. But her body is stubby. She’s on the shorter side and is a little thick. This is especially apparent in her threesome makeout picture with Evelina. I did really want the best for her though. I was hoping for a knockout performance, but unfortunately she never really gave it. It’d cut her around week eight.
17. Katerina (11.3) 4/13/17
Oh, this girl is a disappointment. I thought Katerina started out strong. Her underwater picture was good and underrated. But thereafter, she kinda just drifted to the bottom and was killed off week three. I think her elimination was a bit pre-mature, as there were worse models who should have been cut before her. I mean, Katerina’s face isn’t bad. She has an OK body. She just isn’t a stand out. I’d take her a couple weeks further.
18. Garifallia (11.5) 21/6/1/13/13/15
Boo. I wish Garifallia performed better on the show. I really liked her weeks two and three. Otherwise, she kinda was garbage. I hated her picture week one, it’s one of my least favorite pictures of the season. And she ended on a low note, too. I do think Garifallia has a strong look. And her name is fun to say. But I don’t support a quitter (even though I don’t know the reason she quit lol), and so I would have probably eliminated her around week six anyway.
19. Xanthi (11.9) 17/20/16/10/4/13/12/13/12/8/9/9
Ugly. You know, this picture is actually decent. The hands are awkward as fuck, but I like the pin-up expression. Anyway, Xanthi sucks and we been knew. She and Eirini constantly found themselves battling for last place. I don’t know why she was cast. Like, she’s so standard looking. She’s not a model. She doesn’t have good proportions for a model, not even a plus-sized model. She looks stubby on camera frequently, and her full round face shape doesn’t help her pear-shaped body either. I just take absolutely no interest in this girl, and I think she should have been eliminated week two.
20. Meggy (12.4) 8/19/4/15/16/12/13
Eh, Meggy is kinda stank. Beside week three, Meggy never really had that great of a moment. And even then, I didn’t think Meggy’s African prints picture was that strong. Overall, I just don’t think Meggy has a strong look for a model. She looks a little bit on the older side. I find there to be something quite leathery about her skin, too. I’m ultimately just not a fan of this one. I would have kept her until week seven, though.
21. Agapi (15.7) 20/17/10
Agapi has a weirder arc than Elda. She literally performed terribly the first two weeks, got eliminated, came back after 12 weeks, performed terribly once more, and got eliminated again. I feel bad for the girl, because I don’t think she deserved to do so poorly on the show. I think this promo shot is OK. Agapi has a decent look. I find her body particularly strong. She just isn’t very photogenic. I think Agapi should have been cut week one for her terrible underwater picture.
22. Sofia (22.0) 22
The one who can’t swim… has some hands. Not that big of a fan of this picture. I don’t know what to think of this girl. I think her look is fairly decent. I don’t think she’s the weakest facially. But the bitch sucked week one and totally deserved the boot. I just don’t understand how difficult it is to pose underwater. Are people that unable to hold their breaths? She’s my first eliminee too.
