FINAL THOUGHTS

Wow, this season went by very quick. Well, I was actually having a lot of fun updating, which resulted in me doing more posts each day. I think it also helped that I really enjoyed covering the first season of ANTM. It may not have been much, considering it was the very first cycle, but it was still kind of fun. I thought the first season had some pretty strong models, and there were also pretty good photoshoots in the competition, like the snake and nude shoot. Overall, I like the winner a lot. I don’t think I’d give her the win, but I’m fine with her winning, because she was one of the strongest models of the cycle.

1) Elyse (2.5) 7/1/1/3/1/1/4/2

Before I ever watched ANTM, I kind of disliked Elyse. From what I heard about her, I thought she was a complete and utter bitch, but after watching the first cycle, she became my absolute favorite. I love her now. Her personality was awesome; I loved how bitchy she was, and how she thought she was better than everyone. Let’s be honest though – not only was she the smartest girl there, but she was also the best model of the season, so I guess I would have to agree with her being the best. Her portfolio was amazing, and she received a whopping four first call-outs from me, which is really good. I love this girl a lot, and I’d give her the win.

2) Giselle (2.6) 1/3/5/1/3

Giselle was such a beautiful girl. Just look at this picture – she looks absolutely stunning! Her beauty definitely shined through in pictures, as she was one of the most photogenic girls of the season. Her snake shot was probably my least favorite picture of her, but even then, it wasn’t bad. I don’t even think she’d be capable of taking a bad picture with a face as stunning as that. Her features were just so stunning and beautiful. I’d take her to the final two with Elyse, but I think she’d lose it because she doesn’t have the best confidence in the world. I still don’t get why she was eliminated before girls like Kesse and Robin though.

3) Adrianne (2.8) 3/2/3/6/2/3/3/1/2

Another girl who I really like. Adrianne was never my favorite girl of the season. I actually kind of thought she was annoying in the first and second episode, but I really started to love her when she got severe food poisoning, and forced herself to stay in the competition. That was probably one of my favorite moments of the cycle, and it did prove that she wanted this a lot. Her portfolio was one of the best of the season. She had a beautiful face and an amazing body, so while I wouldn’t give her the win (she gets third for me), I’m not at all upset by her winning. She was amazing.

4) Shannon (3.7) 10/6/2/4/4/2/1/3/1

Shannon was a pretty good model, and I think, had it not been for that picture in week one, she’d have an average as good as the three above. She did do quite poorly in the beginning of the competition though. She was just so skinny, and it was pretty unflattering. But, I think, as the competition went by, she worked on her body more and more, which I applaud her for doing, because afterwards, her portfolio started to improve drastically. I’d take her to the final four. Not because she didn’t do the nude photoshoot (I kind of think if Robin weren’t there, she would have done it), but because she wasn’t up to par with Adrianne, Elyse and Giselle.

5) Katie (4.5) 4/5

Between Giselle and Katie, I think those two girls had the most stunning faces of the season. With that being said, I found Katie’s elimination to be complete bullshit. I never got how she was eliminated for being too sexy, especially when the first two shoots were for swimwear. Between her two pictures on the show though, I definitely prefer the shot for JLO Swimwear. Her other picture was also good, and certainly should not have resulted in an elimination. She goes to the top five for me, because I thought she had a lot of potential.

6) Kesse (5.0) 5/8/4/2/6/5

Kesse disappointed me quite a bit in the competition. She had by no means my favorite look of the season, but she did have a bit of potential. Her snake shot and shot for JLO swimwear were easily her best pictures. She also performed well in the contact commercial. Her last two pictures, however, were pretty bad. Her face was alright, and I didn’t really care for her body all too much. I’d probably end up cutting her the week prior she was actually eliminated. I didn’t mind her going as far as she did though.

7) Robin (5.0) 6/9/6/5/5/4/2/3

Ugh, Robin. She was just so old, and her proportions were awful. To this day, I don’t even understand how she even got in the house. More so, I don’t understand how she made it to the final four. I’m sure that the reason Robin stayed so long was so that Tyra could make a statement about plus sized models; to show that they have a chance in the fashion industry as well. And honestly, they do, but Robin was a terrible example of one. Her first picture and B&W beauty shot were really the only two pictures I liked. The rest of her pictures were pretty damn awful. She should have been eliminated in week two for that terrible, terrible picture.

8) Nicole (5.3) 2/7/7

Eh. I didn’t really care about Nicole – both in personality and modeling skills. She did have one of  the better bodies of the season, although her boobs were rather huge. Her face, however, never impressed me. She had the tendency to either look draggish and/or unsure of herself. I doubt Nicole would have improved her expressions if she were to stay in the competition any longer. I’d still take her a week further either way. I have a feeling she would have wrecked the commercial, so that’s where I’d eliminate her.

9) Ebony (6.8) 8/4/8/7

I really liked Ebony. She was extremely hilarious. She was really the only one of the season to entertain me, but looking at just her portfolio, she really let me down. None of her pictures were great. Her best picture (swimwear for Stuff) wasn’t even that amazing. She also had a rather harsh look, and her skin was pretty bad. I’ll say it for the third and final time: Ebony’s not a model at all. So for that, I’d cut her a week earlier than she was on the show.

10) Tessa (9.0) 9

I’m not too sure how I feel about Tessa. Looking at this picture, she seemed to have had tons of potential, but then looking at her picture in week one, she looks like two different people. I am very curious as to what she would have brought to the competition if she stayed, because her face is pretty gorgeous. I think her body was pretty good too, but I still probably would have cut her first, because I do prefer Shannon over her. Still though, I think she’s one of the best first eliminees in ANTM history.

WEEK 8

Final week of the competition! And much like the other seasons of ANTM, the season ended with a final runway. The stylings for the runway were pretty retro looking (for 2014, definitely). I still really liked how simple everything was though. There was nothing extraordinaire like later ANTMs have as there final runways, which is really nice, because I much rather prefer this to that. Oh, and Elyse was eliminated before the final runway, which I found to be complete bullshit, but we’ll get to that later. This season still delivered a great winner, nevertheless.

1) Shannon (Runner-Up)

Shannon was absolutely amazing in the final runway. She looked like she belonged in the fashion show; she looked like a professional. Her face looked stunning the whole time, and she fit the clothing surprisingly well. She looked super confident, and oozed sex appeal. She stepped it up a lot during the final runway, and she really took my breath away.

2) Adrianne (Winner)

Adrianne’s walk wasn’t awful, but compared to Shannon’s, it was rather amateurish. Her face didn’t read as confident as Shannon’s on the runway, and her eyes looked rather sleepy, but she still looked pretty good. I’m really glad she won though, because between her and Shannon, I definitely prefer her winning. Such a great winner.

WEEK 7

Before I start, Robin and Shannon both did not do the photoshoot, because “if you don’t stand for something, you’ll fall for anything!” Even when they were offered something to cover up there vaginal region, they still declined, so whatever, they will be sharing a third place with each other, and both will receive an elimination vote. Well anyway, this photoshoot is amazing! It’s definitely one of my favorites of the season. Both girls performed exceptionally well, because they are two of the strongest models of the season. Great concept, amazing execution; such an amazing shoot.

1) Adrianne

Adrianne can pull off sexy? No way! Yeah, this is no surprise to me – Adrianne is a really sexy girl, and obviously she’d pull off a naked photoshoot extremely well. This is probably my favorite picture of Adrianne on the show. Her face and body exude sex appeal. I love how she’s looking at the camera, and she angled her body perfectly towards the camera. She also pulls off the greasy hair and body amazingly well. I really like how most of my attention goes straight to the jewelry, since they’re selling diamonds. Such a stunning picture. I’m so glad Adrianne got at least one first call-out from me.

2) Elyse

Another fantastic picture, and a big improvement from Elyse’s disappointing beauty shot. I really like this, but I don’t think Elyse is doing as good of a job selling the jewelry, so that’s why Adrianne edged her out this time. This is still pretty great though. I think this is the best Elyse’s body has ever looked in a picture. I am in love with her arched back, and I like how she doesn’t look too thin. Her face is beautiful here. I love her eyes, and I never thought Elyse could pull off sexy this well. Adrianne and her really hit it out of the park with these pictures.

3) Robin (Eliminated) and Shannon
Yeah, whatever. Both of them should have been eliminated for not doing the photoshoot. But whatever, at least Robin is gone!

WEEK 7

Double photoshoot time! As overdone as black and white beauty shoots are, I still really liked this photoshoot. I don’t think it’s as good as the beauty shoot with snakes, but it’s not bad at all. I can also say that this is the first photoshoot where no one performed terrible, which is always good. Oh, also, I really like how we get to see each girl’s profile here as well. And let’s not forget about the elimination… It was perfect. She may have delivered her best picture of the competition this week, but her elimination was long overdo.

1) Shannon

This is amazing. Never did I think Shannon had a profile this good until I saw this picture. Her jawline is literally everything in this picture. I love, love, love how strong it looks here. Her cheekbones are to die for here as well. And the makeup is fantastic on her. I love her nose, eye, and mouth here. The neck extension is awesome as well. I don’t really care for her using her arms in this picture, but it doesn’t ruin this photo for me at all. Her profile is just so beautiful; nothing could make me dislike this picture when her face looks that gorgeous.

2) Robin (Eliminated)

I find it quite funny that Robin was eliminated in the week she delivered her strongest picture of the competition. I can’t believe Robin pulled off a picture that looks this stunning, in all honesty. Her look is just so unfresh, and her age usually shows in pictures, but here – she looks absolutely gorgeous. This is the first time that Robin looks younger than her actual age in a picture, which I applaud her for finally accomplishing. Her profile is just so beautiful, and just like Shannon, Robin carries the dark makeup extremely well here. Still though, I’m quite glad she was eliminated this week. She’s not at loss one bit.

3) Adrianne

I’m not all too sure why so many people think this is the best picture of this shoot. I mean, it’s by no means bad, and I actually still really like this, but Shannon and Robin’s pictures are a bit better, in my opinion. I don’t think Adrianne’s profile is as amazing as Shannon’s, but there’s still a few things that look amazing here. For example, her jawline looks amazing, and her eyes are absolutely gorgeous. I don’t really care for the greasy looking spot on her cheek though, and her nose looks rather big here. I would have liked to see a bit more neck extension as well. But still, this is pretty good.

4) Elyse

I really do not like ranking Elyse last, but she did do the worst in this photoshoot by quite a bit. I’m actually kind of surprised Elyse performed this poorly in this photoshoot, considering her face is one of my favorites of the competition and all. I think the angle is at most fault for this being the worst picture of the bunch though. I don’t understand why she was shot at a different angle than the other three. The angle makes her jawline and cheekbones look rather undefined, and the lighting looks kind of bad on her face as well. This screams sabotage, because I know Elyse could do much better than this.

WEEK 6

This photoshoot is so horrible I can’t even. It’s by far the worst photoshoot of the season. The concept isn’t horrible; I actually like the idea of lingerie with a male model, and the backdrop of the Eiffel Tower. What makes this so terrible is the execution. There are no pictures that I’d consider to be good; they’re either decent or bad. Most of the girls did an awful job at showing off the lingerie. The elimination was okay though. I liked her, but it was truly her time to go. The elimination still doesn’t make up for the atrocious execution this week though.

1) Elyse

I’m actually laughing at this being my first call-out of the week. I love Elyse to bits, but even she did a rather poor job in this photoshoot. This is actually one of my least favorite photos of Elyse, which goes to show that her worst is still the best overall sometimes. I don’t like this because it’s “high fashion”, or because it’s “caught in the moment”, I like this because she’s the only one to actually sell all the lingerie properly. She’s not doing a very good job at it, but at least she’s doing it. Her body actually looks quite good here too, surprisingly. Her face is disconnected, but it’s by no means awful.

2) Shannon

God, this week is so awful. This photo of Shannon isn’t bad per se, but I think both her and Adrianne are doing a rather poor jobs at selling the lingerie, because, well, the male model is in front of it in both pictures. That’s truly my only problem in this picture though. I kind of like the interaction with the male model. I like how she wrapped her arms around his chest, and I kind of like how she’s almost biting his ear. It’s cute and sexy, but not too sexy. But yeah, Shannon did failed at showing off the lingerie, which results in me having to dock points because of it.

3) Adrianne

This could have easily been better than Shannon’s picture had it not been for how sexy and rather sluttish she looks here. Adrianne is naturally a really sexy girl, so when she trys to add even more sexiness on top of that, it goes a bit too far. Her expression and body language don’t really go together very well, because she’s doing something sexy with both of them. Either way, I still like her hands. I don’t care for her face very much though, because of the sexiness, of course, and because she tilted her head too far back. This could have been much better.

4) Robin

Haha. This picture is almost as hilarious as her photo last week. She looks pissed off at the male model – from the scowl to her arms being crossed. On top of that she looks rather aged here, and the back fat is pretty unappealing (it really should have been photoshopped off). The only thing that keeps me from giving Robin an elimination vote for this is that she’s presenting the bra rather well. Just the bra though, because they of course had to crop out the underwater. I really can’t believe she actually made it to the top four.

5) Kesse (Eliminated)

Eh. I’m not really upset that Kesse was elimination, because let’s be honest, these last two weeks she hasn’t delivered anything impressive. Her picture last week was one of the worst pictures of the season, and I’m not really sure if this is any better. Her face and body don’t look good here at all. I really hate how fat she looks here. Her arm looks huge, and the armpit fat seriously should have been photoshopped. Her face is even worse. Her face is turned too far away from the camera, and cheeks look like a chipmunk’s. Just an awful picture. Bye bye Kesse.

WEEK 5

Back to photoshoots – thank you Lord. Anyway, I really enjoyed this photoshoot. I think it’s a pretty cool idea. I really dig athletic photoshoots, and I thought the stylings were pretty damn awesome. I don’t like Clinton Portis being in the photoshoot though, because he did practically nothing interesting. I also didn’t like how this was a reebok ad, and most of the photos were cropped. But whatever, I still really liked this photoshoot. The elimination I hated though. Oh my God… I seriously can’t believe she was eliminated so soon.

1) Elyse

I love this. I know it’s not very popular to rank this first, but I think it’s great. I think what makes me like this picture so much is that she was the only one to show off both of the shoes, and she was the only one to interact with Clinton. I really love that she was able to pull off the pink and black crap on her face. I love how she’s jumping too. I love the movement. I do see why people would rank this lower down though. She does look pretty skinny here, and she is missing an arm, but it doesn’t affect my ranking at all. I still love this a lot.

2) Adrianne

Another great shot, and a huge improvement from Adrianne’s poor performance last week! I think Adrianne’s body looks the best this week (what a surprise!). This girl really did have one of the best bodies of the season. I love her left leg, because her skin looks amazing, and she’s showing off the shoe fantastically. I don’t really mind that she’s not showing off the other shoe though; all that matters is she’s selling the product. I really dig what she’s doing with her arms as well. I think she pulls off the makeup well enough. I just don’t like how Clinton’s just standing there, because it’s so unnecessary.

3) Giselle (Eliminated)

This is the biggest bullshit elimination of the season (along with Katie’s, of course). I understand why they eliminated her for lack of confidence, but if she was pulling off practically every single photoshoot, then why would you eliminate her? It confuses the hell out of me. Anyway, this picture is great. I don’t think it’s Giselle’s best, but for a jumping shot, this is pretty awesome. Her legs look amazing. I don’t get why she isn’t wearing any shoes, but I like that she pointed her toes. I don’t like how she lost her arm though, and her face isn’t the most attractive thing here. Still though, she was extremely robbed.

4) Shannon

To this day, I never really understood why so many people think this is the best shot of the week. I mean, it’s surely impressive, and one of my favorites of Shannon’s, but there are a few things I don’t like here. The things that bother me are that she’s the only one not moving around – or at least it doesn’t look like it. Also, I really hate the cropping in this picture. Why are the shoes cropped out of the photo? Shannon still looks good here nevertheless. Her face looks fantastic; very commercial, but still great. And her body looks the best it has ever looked. I don’t like Clinton being wrapped around her leg though.

5) Robin

And so we arrive to the bottom tier. This is pretty awful, though not even Robin’s worst. Her face is blank and disconnected from the camera. Her body looks terrible here. Although she’s a plussie, couldn’t her stomach look a tad bit more toned? Her pose is hilariously awful. I love how Clinton is being framed by Robin’s arm and leg, because it’s hilarious. The cropping just makes it look even more ridiculous. The only positive I have is that the cropping spared us from seeing the other half of her body, because I imagine that is wouldn’t look all too pretty.

6) Kesse

Awful. “This looks like she escaped from a mental institution. This is the worst photograph I’ve ever seen. You look deranged, your arms look amputeed, your legs look amputeed, and it looks like you have a penis, I’m sorry.” Janice’s critique was definitely on point. This is pretty awful. I’m surprised she wasn’t eliminated or put in the bottom two for this, to be completely honest, because this is terrible. I would have eliminated her for this atrocity.

WEEK 4

Commercial time! God. I hate NTM commercials with a burning passion. They are always really, really, really awful. This one just so happens to be one of the worst. Seriously awful. I never really understood this commercial. Like, of all things, why contact lenses? And I really did not like how each girl practically said three words. I just want to get this week done and over with.

1) Giselle

I know, I know. Practically everyone ranks Kesse first this week, but honestly, I think Giselle did the best. She looked absolutely beautiful in the two seconds that she was shone. I love how it looked like she was falling in love with the camera. Her voice was one of the few that didn’t sound completely forced and bad as well. I loved how she said “color is emotion”. She may have gotten one of the shortest (and cheesiest) lines, but her delivery was definitely one of the best of the week.

2) Kesse

Kesse also did quite well in the commercial. I liked how she ended the commercial, because she does have one of the more soothing voices of the bunch, but I kind of wished Giselle got her line instead. But whatever. Kesse looked great in the commercial. She was really hot, actually, and looked very natural. My one problem is that her mouth looked so weird when she was talking. I don’t know if it’s just me, but I did not like that very much.

3) Elyse

Giselle and Kesse were really the only two to deliver reasonably good performances. These next five were all bad in their own way. Elyse just so happened to be the best of the worst. It definitely showed in the commercial that Elyse thought it was completely stupid, and let’s be honest – it definitely was, but I wish she just faked her performance just a tad bit more, because it kind of seemed like she was about to start laughing. But whatever – it was still better than these next four.

4) Shannon

Shannon looked stunning in the commercial, but good God, her voice is so annoying sometimes. Her voice is extremely raspy, which kind of confused me because she did get one of the longer lines (which I wouldn’t have given her). I liked how she was walking towards the camera, and her hair looked great. She carried the makeup well enough as well. But God, her voice is awful.

5) Robin

This screenshot is hilariously bad (this is what Robin looks like in motion most of the time… Haha). She did look a lot better in the commercial though. I really liked how she started the commercial by flipping her hair like that, but her delivery was pretty bad. Her voice is almost as annoying as Shannon’s. I really didn’t like how slow she said “color is power”. I do like how she delivered her lines rather powerful, because it worked for her lines, but it was a little bit too much.

6) Adrianne

Adrianne, so beautiful, it hurts. Adrianne looked absolutely beautiful in the commercial. I really like bangs on Adrianne. Her delivery, however, was pretty bad. She said the least amount of lines (two word, by the way), but her delivery was probably the worst of the bunch. She said “adventure” alright, I guess, but when she said “passion”, it ruined her performance. Her accent was just way too thick. I really liked how they zoomed into her face though.

7) Ebony (Eliminated)

Yeah, I’ll repeat it – Ebony is not a model. She looked okay in the commercial. Her skin, namely, looked amazing. Her lines were okay too, but I couldn’t get over that jump in the beginning. It seemed extremely forced and rather unpleasant. She was also kind of awkward in the commercial as well. I’m not upset about her elimination at all. She definitely deserved to go.
